This was one of my favourite ships having sailed on it on numerouse occasions as a Cheif Cook and laterly as a Catering Officer this was when it was a lightening vessel - with a black hull.

Thanks to the site , I now remember well that ship ( and his sister ship Darina too )when she went several times to Le Verdon France harbour . I was in a previous life in charge of mooring and pipes connections there ...as said above, great times...

I was Fourth Engineer on Drupy-Draws in 69/70. Anybody remember 'Radio Geronimo' at midnight.

Best ship I ever sailed on.

I was on the drupa when it grounded in stavanger Feb 76 and sent out the 'help" message to cullercoats radio on 500khz (morse) we all slept on it with a massive list that night and booze was free! Remember seeing the ship bend like a banana as it took off the bulbous bow and 1-6 starboard and seconds later saw all the oil spew out!

I sailed as my first trip 5th Engineer on the Drupa in 1977 making several trips to the Brent Spar and often lightening the French B boats in Lyme Regis bay.
