Photo of the cargo vessel City of Liverpool (IMO 7014282), seen in the port of Avonmouth in 1980.
The cargo ship City of Liverpool was built by Robb Caledon, Dundee, in 1970. She measured a loa of 153m, beam of 22.3m and 9767 GT.
She changed name again in 1981 to Marianthe and was scrapped in 1986 at Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

What was the Main Engine?
If a DOXFORD, who was the builder?

Can't answer for her but CITY OF LONDON had a Barclay Curle Sulzer and I'm sure the others would probably have Sulzers too.

Hello John
Thanks for your information, but it seems that there is one contradiction in my opinion.
The engine is build by Doxford Sunderland, but the hull was build by Robb Caledon not by Doxford?
Or is there a mis understanding
Regards
Alfons

The engine was a 'J' type. Seven cylinder BBC turbocharger at each end. Constant pressure charged if my memory serves me?
