Old photograph I got possession of (part of whole bundle of old monochrome pictures). The Back of the photo identifies this old liner as the HMT Lancashire. I've looked up several other old photographs on the Lancashire ut there seem to be differences to the superstructure (amongst others the bridge). So not sure whether this is the HMT Lancashire and if she is, when this photo was taken... before or after conversion.
The HMT Lancashire was built 1914 for Bibby Line, in 1930 converted to permanent troopship, scrapped at Barrow in 1956. Length 502 ft. Breadth 57 ft. Depth 35 ft. 10 ins. Tonnage 9,543 tons, H.P. 6,000.
