The Royal Navy's Fishery Protection Vessel HMS Severn seen here departing the Port of Tyne on 15th January 2014, for Maritime Enforcement Patrol.
She is the 9th vessel to bear this name (Pennant 282) and has sister ships HMS Mersey and HMS Tyne.
All 3, which are River Class Offshore Patrol Vessels, were built by Vosper Thornycroft in Southampton, and were commissioned in 2003.
She has a crew of 30 plus a Royal Marine Commando attachment.
She is equipped with a 20mm Cannon and 2 General Purpose Machine Guns.
