British LSL 'Sir Galahad' of 1966 (1)

London-registered L.S.L. (Landing Ship, Logistic) "Sir Galahad" (6,390* tons gross, completed in December 1966 by Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd., Glasgow), managed by British India S.N. Co., leaving Bahrain on 10th May 1967. In 1970 she was transferred to the Royal Fleet Auxiliary; she was repainted in Naval grey & given the pennant number A3005 (later L3005). On 8th June 1982 she was badly damaged by Argentinian air attack at Bluff Cove, Falkland Islands, sustaining a total of 48 fatalities and was towed offshore & sunk as a War Grave on 25th June.
