Liberian ship 'Oriental Carnival' of 1949

Monrovia-registered passenger/cargo ship "Oriental Carnival" (21,809 tons gross, 399 1st class passengers, built 1949 by Vickers Armstrongs, Newcastle), owned by the C.Y. Tung Group company Oriental South America Lines Inc. (managers: Island Navigation Corp.) at Kobe, Japan, in November 1972. She was built as "Rangitoto" for New Zealand Shipping Co. of London & bought by Tung in 1969. She was sold for scrap to Lee Sing Shipbreaking Co., Hong Kong, in 1976.
