Iranian coastal tanker 'Kambiz' of 1944
Khorramshahr-registered coastal tanker "Kambiz" (475 tons deadweight, built by Burntisland Shipbuilding Co., Scotland), owned by Maritime Co. Ltd., in the Shatt-al-Arab River in July 1972. She was built in 1944 as the standard prefabricated coastal tanker "Chant 67" for the UK Ministry of War Transport. She was sold in 1946 to Sporveines Bensindepot Nor, Norway, & renamed "Norbensin"; sold again 1952 to K.J. Rebensdorf & others of Gothenburg & renamed "Redo"; and again in 1956 to Knut Hermansson, Sweden, & renamed "Redön", before being bought by Maritime Co, in 1971.
