Greek cruise ship 'Stella Solaris' of 1953
Piraeus-registered cruise ship "Stella Solaris" (10,595 tons gross; built by S.A. des Ateliers et Chantiers de France, Dunkirque; 765 passengers), owned by Sun Lines Greece Special Shipping Co., at Ashdod, Israel, in October 1975. She was completed in July 1953 as the passenger/cargo ship "Cambodge" (13,520 tons gross) for Cie. des Messageries Maritimes, Paris; bought 1970 by Sun Line Inc., Monrovia, converted into a passenger-only vessel at Perama, Greece, & renamed "Stella V"; and transferred to Sun Lines Greece later the same year & renamed "Stella Solaris". By mergers & acquisitions her owners were later Royal Olympic Cruise Lines (1995) & Louis Cruise Lines (1999). She was withdrawn from service in 2002 & sold for breaking up at Alang, India, in 2003.
