British cargo ship 'Chindwara' of 1950

British India S.N. Co's "Chindwara" (7,340 tons gross, built 1950 by Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd., Newcastle) at Aden in December 1962. She was one of two B.I. "C"-class ships also used as a cadet-training ship, with accommodation at various times for 31, 52 and 15 cadets. In 1971 she was sold to Pacific International Lines, Singapore, & renamed "Kota
Aman". On 22nd July 1974 she was driven aground on the Pakhoi (Peihei) Peninsula, China, during Typhoon Ivy and was so badly damaged that she was towed to Hong Kong & sold for scrap to Leung Yau Shipbreaking & Steel Co.
