Soviet cruise ship Baltika

Soviet cruise ship "Baltika" (7,494 tons gross)in Oslofjord, August 1982. She was built in 1940 by Nederlandsche Scheepsbouw Maatschappij (Netherlands Shipbuilding Company) & named "Vyasheslav Molotov" after the then Minister of Foreign Affairs of the USSR (he of the cocktail fame, whose first name is more comomly translietered as Vyacheslav), and renamed "Baltika" after his fall from grace in 1957. She was scrapped in Pakistan in 1987

I travelled on this ship on a school trip in 1972 from Tilbury Dock London to Leningrad. Shostakovich was on board.

I went on TS Baltika for a cruse around the med with my school.in 1970 a grate ship very friendly crew and such fun really good to see the ship again!
