filmed in the Manchester drizzle in 1977 was my old ship. Houlder's Westbury getting ready for Greek ownership.

Indeed. Renamed DIAMANDO then POLANA and broken up at Gadani Beach in May 1983.
She was a Burntisland ship, completed in 1960.

I joined her aged 16yrs out of school.
Sailed from Swansea to London Docklands, then Nov 5th 1974 for Panama canal to NZ, then back to Corinto, Nicaragua and finally Morocco.

Did three trips to south America on her mid 70s happy days joined in Avonmouth first trip paid off Liverpool rejoined Liverpool both times after that and paid off there only left because they made me go to college logger luff was old own.

I did the last two trips down the Brazilian coast in 1977, before she was sold to the Greeks, she was a good ship, brilliant cook who was destined for the docks in Tilbury.
