Bergen registered KONG HAAKON VII
A photo of one of Hilmar Reksten's proud fleet of oil tankers laid up in the early 80s of the last century. Almost all of his ships were named after the great Roman emperors.
KONG HAAKON VII, AURELIAN, NERVA and SIR CHARLES HAMBRO, the planned called Onarheim south of Bergen. A few of his ships are in operation today under different names and owners, but most unfortunately scrapped. I personally think this was some of the finest oil tankers have been built in the 70 'century.
KONG HAAKON VII, imo:6921672/1969, crude oil tanker. Delivered 07 August 1969. At this time the biggest ship ever built in Norway. The biggest ship in the Norwegian Fleet. Demolished 12.1983, Dwt: 222.513,(Laid up at Tysnes)
