Self-unloading vessel NORDNES passes outside Bergen on her way north 6 July 2010

Originally she was built in 2003 with the name KVITNES, but later renamed to ROCKNES.

ROCKNES was used by Jebsens company, Bergen, and owned by Dutch Van Oord, wrecked in January 2004 in Vatlestraumen near Bergen. The 166 meter long ship was loaded with gravel when it capsized in a short time. Of the 30 aboard were killed 18 Three of the crew was first rescued from the vessel after several hours.

In 2004-2005, she was rebuilt again in Poland.
