Yes I agree, I thought it was Rapid bay at first thinking of the high hills behind there but it was taken over in New Zealand for sure

Hi Gordy,
Upon second glance I think she is actually arriving and is about to pass through the moles into the inner harbour with the hoto being taken from the reclaimed area behind the oil wharf.

There were a few Iron Monarchs but this I'm sure is the 1943 one delivered on April 12th from the Broken Hill yard at Whyalla.
She served till sold for breaking at Kaohsiung where she arrived on October 14th 1972.

Yep that is the old 1943 Iron Monarch, I was on her 4 times, she was my first ship and I was on her as deck boy, bucko, seaman and AB...quite a range of positions eh lol
