Vasa - the Swedish royal ship, port side

This is the first of 6 pictures of this very important ship, taken in the Vasa Museum, Stockholm, on 10 April 2009. I make no apology for putting up so many pictures, because firstly its recovery and display are an amazing story, and secondly photography in the darkened museum is so difficult that viewers of these pictures may not be able to take such pictures themselves.
There are several web sites with detailed information about this ship, so I will confine my remarks to a very brief summary, as follows:
The Royal Warship Vasa capsized on her maiden voyage in August 1628 and never once fired her guns at the enemy. Raised in 1961 the Vasa is the only well preserved 17th century warship in the world.
