STX Braila, Romania

STX RO Offshore Braila SA, previously known as S.C. Aker Braila S.A., is one of two STX Europe AS's shipyards in Romania. South Korean owned STX Europe was previously known as Aker Yards (founded in 2004 and in itself an amalgamation of Aker and Kvaerner) and after some complicated share / ownership changes now operating under STX name. It has its headquarters in Oslo, Norway.
The actual yard STX Braila is situated 170 kilometres up the River Danube. It manufactures hulls, complete vessels and conversions as well as repairs.
